Francis "Fritz" Jefferson Koons was a long-time Bellingham resident, outdoor enthusiast and founding member of the Komo Kulshan Ski Club. Born in 1902 in Illinois, Koons moved to Bellingham permanently in 1926, where he worked for Puget Sound Power and Light Company.
